Orkyx 70's Disco Mix (Part I)

Yo crecí en los 70. Mi padre siempre cuenta que cuando no levantaba muchos palmos del suelo, siempre que sonaba música en alguna radio o en la tele, ahí estaba yo moviendo la cabeza siguiendo el compás, y si me retiraban para ir a casa, o al baño, o a comer, me ponía a llorar desconsolado.

Era la época dorada de la música Disco y, por lo visto, mi afición por ella ya venía de lejos. Hoy en día me siguen gustando mucho esas canciones, y las he intentado recopilar en este mix. No es un ejercicio de nostalgia, no añoro esa época ni pienso que fuera musicalmente mejor ni peor. Simplemente son grandes canciones, como muchas otras que sigue habiendo año tras año, todo es cuestión de tener algo de curiosidad musical.

I grow up in the seventies. Dad used to tell that, when I was no more than a few feet from the ground, whenever some music was being played on T.V. or on the radio, I was there following the rhythm with my head and, if I was taken away to go to take my bath, to eat or to go home, I started to cry.

It was the golden age of Disco Music, and it seems that my love-feeling with the style comes from far behind. Nowadays, I still love all those songs, and that’s why I have tried to compile them in this mix. It is not a nostalgic issue; I neither miss that time nor think it was musically better or worse than any other. They are simply great tunes, as many other releases over and over the years. It is just a question of having some musical curiosity.
