Orkyx Session 54. World Music Mix

Hacía mucho tiempo que quería hacer esto, pero son tantos los estilos y tal cantidad de música de lo más interesante bajo la etiqueta de World Music que era difícil comprimir todo en una sesión. El resultado está aquí, algo más de una hora con sonidos influenciados por múltiples culturas y modos de entender la música. Podrían ser muchos más, pero creo que es una muestra interesante.

 

I have wanted to do this since a long time ago, but there are so many different styles and so many tunes labelled as World Music, that it was hard to get it all joined within a single session. The final result is here; over an hour with cool sounds which show how music is understood depending on the point of view of different cultures. There could be many other sounds or styles, but on the whole, I think it is a nice sample.

Session 52. Fake Mix

Esta idea me surgió tras visitar y estar leyendo la web del Festival Periferias que se está celebrando estos días en Huesca. Este año está dedicado al concepto de lo falso, así que me he puesto a seleccionar y mezclar versiones de temas conocidos...pero en otras voces.

Os dejo también una foto de JAVIMAR pinchando en el festival como esqueleto bailón Mexicano...¡que grande!

An idea came to me after visiting the Periferias Festival website, which is taking part these days in Huesca. This year is devoted to the fake concept, so I decided to select and mix some known tunes, but this time with different voices.

Quería hacer la segunda parte de mi sesión de Hip-Hop y dedicarla al público de Huesca, ya que así me lo pidieron cuando Javimar puso la primera parte en su programa de radio. Esta vez ha quedado diferente, ya que es más abstracta, menos vocal y con toques de Dub.

 

This was pretended to be the second part of my Hip-Hop session, dedicated to the people from Huesca who asked me to do it when they listened to the 1st part played by Javimar on his radio show. The result is quite different, more abstract, less vocal and with some Dub on it.

No sé si la etiqueta Trip-Hop está ya pasada de moda, y la verdad no me importa. Me gusta el sonido, que es lo que importa, aquí tenéis algo más de media hora de ese estilo. ¡Que lo disfruten!

Hola, primero pedir perdón por el retraso, pero mi controladora murió, y ha pasado bastante tiempo con la Navidad de por medio para comprar otra, retrasos varios, problemas y luego el familiarizarme con ella. Aquí está mi primera grabación, pretendía ser Techno más o menos oscuro, pero al final no ha sido así. Espero que os guste.

 

Hi, in the first place I should say sorry for the delay, the reason why is that my old DJ controller suddenly died and then it has been a long time in the middle to buy a new one, which was delayed after some problems (Xmas included) and, finally I needed some time to get familiar with it. Afterwards this is my first record  made with the new controller. I wanted it to be like a dark Techno set but it has turned out to be something different. Anyway I hope you like it.
